Overview
AI-augmented search enhances template and flow discovery across the application while preserving the speed and predictability of traditional keyword search.
AI search is supported in:
Keyword search and AI search are combined into a single search component in all of these locations.
How It Works
Keyword Search Always Runs First
Every search starts as a standard keyword search.
This ensures:
- Fast results for exact matches
- Predictable behavior
- No unnecessary AI processing
If your query produces sufficient matches, results are shown immediately and AI is not suggested.
AI Is Offered When It Adds Value
AI-augmented search is suggested only when:
- The number of keyword matches is below a predefined threshold
- The query contains intent-based phrases such as: “how to” “sync” “export” “integrate” “move data” similar natural language expressions
When this happens, a Try AI badge appears in the search control.
AI search is never executed automatically.
AI Search Is Explicit
AI search runs only when you trigger it.
You can start AI search by:
- Clicking the Try AI badge
- Pressing Ctrl + Enter on Windows/Linux
- Pressing Command + Enter on macOS
This keeps the behavior transparent and under your control.
AI Results Are Clearly Indicated
When AI search is used:
- The search control displays the number of items found by AI
- Results reflect intent, not just exact keyword matches
This makes it clear when results are AI-augmented.
Benefits
AI-augmented search helps you:
- Find the right template even if you do not know its exact name
- Describe your goal in natural language
- Discover relevant templates based on intent Reduce time spent browsing categories
At the same time, traditional keyword search remains available for precise matching.
Examples
Instead of searching for an exact template key, you can type:
- “sync HubSpot with MySQL”
- “how to export API data to S3”
- “move CSV into Snowflake”
- “send email with attachment”
If keyword search produces limited matches, AI can interpret the intent and suggest appropriate Flow types or templates.
Tips
- Use natural language if you are unsure of the template name.
- Use Ctrl/Command + Enter to quickly trigger AI search.
- Keep queries short but intent-focused.
- If you know the exact category or template name, use keyword search for faster results.
Admin Controls for AI Search
Super Admins can configure AI search behavior under Settings > AI.
You can adjust:
- Maximum number of templates returned
- Minimum similarity threshold for matches
These controls help you fine-tune how strict or broad the search results should be.
Summary
AI-augmented search enhances discovery while keeping search predictable and efficient:
- Keyword search runs first
- AI is suggested only when helpful
- AI search is user-triggered AI usage is clearly indicated
- Available in Home, Flow Type selection, and Workflow Editor step creation
This approach improves usability without changing the core search behavior.
