Etlworks includes customization feature that allows super admins to define and manage global key-value pairs for flow parameters. These predefined values are automatically suggested to users across the platform, making parameter selection more consistent, user-friendly, and error-resistant.
What It Does
This feature adds dropdowns to all key-value parameter inputs, so users can select from a list of predefined keys and associated values, instead of typing them manually every time.
It’s especially useful for organizations that want to:
-
Standardize parameter names across flows
-
Reuse common values (e.g., filenames, flags, environment identifiers)
-
Reduce errors when entering parameters
-
Speed up configuration by suggesting previously used values
How It Works
-
Under Settings → Customization, super admins can define global predefined keys and values.
-
Each key supports a list of comma-separated values.
-
When a user selects or enters a parameter key in one of the supported areas, the matching list of values (if any) will be shown in a dropdown for selection.
-
This reduces manual typing and enforces consistency across flows and users.
Where It Works
Once enabled by a super admin, this feature is active across all tenants in four key areas:
Schedule → Flow parameters
Agent → Edit Flow Parameters → Flow parameters
Flows → Run → Add parameters → Additional Parameters
Flow → Parameters tab → Flow variables
In all these places, parameter key and value inputs will show dropdowns populated with predefined or previously entered options.
Flow Parameters Auto Options
There is also a “Flow parameters auto options” toggle in the Customization settings:
-
Enabled (default): Any parameter key and value entered by any user in the supported areas will be automatically stored and made available in future dropdowns.
-
Disabled: Only the keys and values explicitly defined by the super admin will appear in the dropdowns. No automatic collection or suggestions.
This gives platform owners full control over whether suggestions should be dynamic (crowdsourced) or strictly predefined.
