Overview
Etlworks provides two billing models:
- Self-managed subscriptions (in-app or customer portal)
- Invoice-based billing
Both support:
- Monthly and annual billing ACH (bank account) payments
- Credit card payments (self-managed only)
Self-managed subscriptions can be managed directly in the Etlworks application (recommended) or through the external customer portal.
Billing models
Self-managed subscription (in-app)
Starting with version 9.4.9, billing and subscriptions can be fully managed directly in the Etlworks UI.
Use this model if you want:
- Immediate access
- Credit card or ACH payments
- Self-service subscription management inside the app
Access
Open: Top-right menu → Billing
This opens the in-app billing screen.
Billing account
When you start a trial, a billing account is created automatically.
If the account is not linked, you can:
- Link an existing billing account
- Create a new billing account
Once linked, all billing actions are available in the same screen.
What you can do
After linking a billing account, you can:
- Manage subscriptions (add, upgrade, cancel)
- View and download invoices
- Manage payment methods (add, remove, set default)
- Add funds to AI wallet
- Edit or unlink billing account
Subscribe to Etlworks
- Open Billing
- Add a payment method (credit card or ACH)
- Go to Subscriptions
- Click Add Subscription
- Select a plan and complete subscription
Common workflows
Trial → Subscription
After the trial expires:
- You can still access the account
- Flow execution is disabled
To continue:
- Open Billing
- Add payment method
- Subscribe to a plan
Upgrade subscription
You can upgrade at any time:
- Open Billing → Upgrade
- Select a higher-tier plan
Add additional subscriptions
You can add:
- Additional environments
- Support plans
- Add-ons
Steps:
- Open Billing → Subscriptions
- Click Add Subscription
- Changes take effect immediately.
Cancel subscription
To cancel:
- Open Billing → Subscriptions
- Select subscription
- Click Cancel
Notes:
- Cancellation is immediate
- Any outstanding invoices must be paid
Payment methods
Supported:
- Credit cards
- Bank accounts (ACH)
You can:
- Add new payment method
- Remove existing method
- Set default payment method
Invoices
Open Billing → Invoices to:
- View invoices
- Download PDF copies
- Check payment status
You are charged:
- At subscription start
- At the beginning of each billing cycle
AI Wallet
You can fund AI usage directly:
- Open Billing → AI Wallet
- Add funds manually
- Configure auto-recharge
Important notes
- Billing is processed by Stripe
- Etlworks does not have access to full payment details
- Subscription changes follow billing cycle rules
- Only account admin or billing owner can manage billing
Customer portal (legacy option)
Use this if:
- You are using Etlworks version older than 9.4.9
- You prefer the previous workflow
- You already manage billing outside the app
Access to Billing Portal
Open the billing portal:
Subscribe to Etlworks in Portal
Step 1. Create or access billing account
Open the billing portal:
- New users: click Sign up and create a billing account
- Existing users: sign in
Note: The billing account is separate from your Etlworks application account.
Step 2. Add payment method
- Open Payment Methods
- Add or update: Credit card (self-managed only) or Bank account (ACH)
Step 3. Select a plan
- Open Subscriptions
- Click Browse Plans
- Select a plan
- Add to cart and complete checkout
Manage subscription and Payment Methods
From the billing portal you can:
- View subscriptions
- Change subscription plan
- Update payment method
- View billing history
Sign in to billing portal
1. Open the billing portal
2. Enter email associated with the account and click Continue.
3. Enter Password
4. If you forgot your password click Forgot your password link and follow instructions.
View subscriptions
1. Select Subscriptions tab to view Active, Paused and Canceled subscriptions.
Change subscription plan
1. Select Subscriptions tab
2. Click Subscribe button
3. Open Select a Plan dropdown, select a new plan and click Subscribe.
Update payment method
1. Select Payment Methods tab
2. Add new payment method
3. Remove old payment method
View billing history
1. Select Payments tab to view payment history
Invoices and payments
You are charged:
- At subscription start
- At the beginning of each billing cycle
View invoices
- Open the billing portal
- Select Payments tab to view payment history
You can view:
- Current invoices
- Past invoices
- Payment history
Change billing account owner
Account admin can change the billing account owner
From Etlworks
Steps
- Open Preferences in the account menu
- Select Billing Account
- Click Edit
- Enter New Email and Current password
- Click Update
From Billing Portal
- Open the billing portal
- Click My Profile
- Modify profile
- Save
Cancel or change subscription (self-managed)
- To upgrade or downgrade use billing portal.
- To cancel contact sales@etlworks.com.
Notes (self-managed)
- Only billing owner or account admin can access billing
- Billing is managed outside of the main Etlworks UI
- Subscription changes take effect based on billing cycle
Invoice-based billing
Managed directly with Etlworks.
Use this model if you need:
- Purchase orders
- Contract-based agreements
- Net payment terms
- Centralized procurement
Subscribe to Etlworks (Invoice Billing)
Step 1. Request a quote
Send a request to:
sales@etlworks.comInclude:
- Desired plan
- Deployment type (cloud or on-prem)
- Expected usage
Step 2. Sign agreement (if applicable)
- Contract may be provided for review
- Can be executed electronically
Step 3. Receive invoices
- Invoices are issued by Etlworks
- Payment terms: up to Net 60 (annual billing only)
- Monthly billing typically uses shorter terms

For changes (upgrade, downgrade, cancellation) contact:
