Overview
Etlworks instance running in a public cloud cannot access the data behind the company's firewall, and therefore you need the remote Integration Agent to run the flows and view the local data. This process outlines how to use Explorer with remote agents.
Set Agent Context
Navigate to Explorer and set agent context by selecting the Agent in the dropdown.
Once the context is set, you will be able to work with local data just like you would with the data in a cloud. The following functions are available:
- Discover and explore metadata
- Visualize data
- View data in the original Format
- Use SQL to transform data in any Format
- Upload files to any location
- Download files from any location
The Explorer uses the selected agent for all connections even if the resource is directly accessible by the cloud instance.
Disable context caching
Etlworks remembers the Agent Context for a specific user, so next time when you navigate to the Explorer screen the context is already set. You can disable the Agent Context caching in Preferences.
